Orig Anon ... Did you get your ding today? It was weird because the ding went to my personal email, not my school email listed on my resume. Not sure how they got my personal email.Anonymous User wrote:You weren't the only one - what the hell, Cooley interviewer offered me a callback on the spot then recruiting e-mail dings me. Any chance it might be a genuine recruiting mistake, such as your name getting mixed into the wrong list? I imagine they send out a batch of emails at once and I could see it maybe being an error.Anonymous User wrote:

Anybody know if there's any way OP could tactfully contact the interviewer to confirm whether that ding was supposed to happen?

Re: NYU EIW Madness 2014
OP here - thanks for the thoughts. I've been trying to figure out a tactful way to do this... I really can't imagine what went wrong and where. My grades are definitely high enough for them, and unless the interviewer was saying one thing and writing down another thing it seemed like the interview went by with flying colors and he literally said i am going to tell recruiting to schedule a callback with you. But I have no idea how to bring these things up to recruiting without seeming arrogant / argumentative about them rejecting me.beautyistruth wrote:Any chance it might be a genuine recruiting mistake, such as your name getting mixed into the wrong list? Wachtell ding (DS). At least this one doesn't hurt since I knew there was no conceivable way they would ever hire me, haha.

Have people been dinged from Cleary NY (BO), S&C NY (JF), or Debevoise (MCT)? Trying to figure out if I am in the maybe pile, or if I have already been dinged and just don't know it yet. You would think all the dings from all the different interviewers would come out at once, right?

Well just a couple data points: I was dinged at other firms at different times than people with different interviewers.Anonymous User wrote:Have people been dinged from Cleary NY (BO), S&C NY (JF), or Debevoise (MCT)? Re: NYU EIW Madness 2014
I don't know what the exact wording of what the recruiter said to you was. That being said once or twice when I have been offered a callback at the end of the screener by a recruiter it has often been something along the lines of "I will recommend you are give a callback but to needs to be confirmed by the recruiting/hiring committee." At the end of the day the interviewer isn't the only one deciding or even making the final decision. And a lot of silly things can come into play in those decisions. Unfortunately even if an interviewer goes to bat for you they might be overruled. However, I do agree that the recruiter probably shouldn't tell you like a call back is a done deal.Anonymous User wrote:OP here - thanks for the thoughts. Expecting a ding since other people have received CBs from my interviewer. Guessing it's snail mail since I haven't received an email yet. That, or they're just slow sending out the email dings.Anonymous User wrote:Has anybody gotten an email ding from Proskauer Rose, or does it seem like they're going for snail mail?
