Anyone actually got a CB yet for the LA office? I got an email saying they're reviewing apps last week.... still waiting. Also those with dings for the LA office, can you please clariify whether those were dings after CB or no CB?

Sent an email, dinged with no CB interview. I emailed in probably 3 weeks before getting dinged. Got the generic "thank you for your email" about a day after submitting.Anonymous User wrote:Rough, man. By dinged do you mean CB --> No offer. DC offer on the spot as well. I was told this is their M.O. if they like you. Unless the hiring partner is not there the day you do the CB, then it seems like if your gonna get an offer it will be within a couple days after your CBAnonymous User wrote:On the spot.Anonymous User wrote:Approx how long after cb?

Re: Quinn Emanuel Hiring Timeline
When I interviewed one partner (the last I saw) said he was 'confident you'll get an offer' and on my way out I was told I'd hear 'probably in a day -- a week max.'
It's been 3 weeks. I'm assuming one of the interviewers had a really negative eval (none felt bad at the time though), that partner hadn't seen it when he spoke, and that the eval gave them serious pause. Still, wish they wouldn't promise a week latest and then go radio silent.

Did you follow up?Anonymous User wrote:When I interviewed one partner (the last I saw) said he was 'confident you'll get an offer' and on my way out I was told I'd hear 'probably in a day -- a week max.'

This seems like the classic case of following up. After 2 weeks (or now), you should have contacted them (non-intrusively) and briefly mention that the interview went well, you're still interested, and that you were told you'd hear back within a week at the latest. I would be careful about your wording though (for example, don't sound like you were entitled to an answer or anything and don't blame the partner).
At least that's what I would do. Maybe someone else can confirm.

Yeah, you're right -- and its not as though I feel entitled to an answer. I've been on nonlaw hiring committees so I know how things can fall off timeline or people can misspeak.
I had two phone numbers on my resume (one for summer, one for school year). I followed up after two weeks saying basically all that and ensuring they knew to use the summer number rather than the school year number until at least mid-August. They responded with a simple "thanks for the updated contact info" the next day. I don' think I should contact again lest I seem overly pushy.

Yeah IDK, I find it hard to believe that a firm that really wanted to give you an offer would have just forgotten about you and when you follow up they are going to be like "Oh thats right! Here's your offer!"Anonymous User wrote:Did you follow up?Anonymous User wrote:When I interviewed one partner (the last I saw) said he was 'confident you'll get an offer' and on my way out I was told I'd hear 'probably in a day -- a week max.'

I think its safe to say getting into the D.C. office is a bloodbath. The 3 CBs/Offers on this thread now have been the above poster, Top 5% at CCN and Top 10% at MVP.
