do firms keep waitlists for call backs? or is there a "second round" of call backs?

I feel that each schedule (probably 20-25 candidates) will produce 1-2 callbacks.

If there has been 1 callback in one schedule. and that callback is turned down, there may be another callback out there waiting.

But most people will not turn down except already having an offer in hand.

And what is your basis for believing that each schedule (which is 21 candidates, btw) will produce 1-2 callbacks?

It is really just a play of numbers.

Let's assume a firm expected to hire 10 people for its summer program. And 8 of them will be hired by EIW/OCI. This firm will bring in 16-24 people (depends on the ratio of callback/offer, according to NALP last, ratio is around 45%).

This firm probably will do OCI at 10 law schools. So on average, each school will has 1.5-2.5 students being selected.

In the end, if the firm has only one schedule and only does OCI at every school for one single day, then it is going to be probably 2 students selected from that single scehdule.

If it has more than one schedule or does OCI for more than 1 day, then probably 1 will be picked up from each schedule or each day.

Declined/cancelled several DC CBs. Hope that means good news for someone here!

All: please do the same for the benefit of other GULC students. If you have a better opportunity in hand at firm X, and wouldn't accept at firm Y, go ahead and cancel the CB . You can cancel scheduled CBs too; no need to waste your time and the firms time. That said, if you're unsure at all, don't cancel, and go meet with attorneys firm Y. Best way to know if you're a good fit.

Barring some rare exceptions, the ship has sailed on most callbacks

How does that make sense? So people who interviewed on Wednesday and Thursday won't be receiving callbacks? If you look at previous year threads, the second week is filled with CBs and dings.

You will know by the end of today. There will be some exceptions, but don't count on many callbacks after close of business today.

What is your basis for this? My understanding is that many DC firms take more than a few days and even some NY firms will do CBs later.

I talked to career services and to a recruiter...both agreed 1-3 days for NY firms, but that DC firms will be releasing decisions from now until the end of next week.

Milbank had a dinner on Wednesday night for all DC and NYC callbacks, so they are likely finished making their calls.
