Does anyone know if low-socioeconomic is considered "diverse" for 1L SAs?
I would say yes, unless the firm lists what they consider diverse and socioeconomic background is not listed among them. Even still, I would say apply and let them deny you. You're not losing anything by submitting your app. Be sure to explain your background in your statement.
Not OP, but shiiiiit. Wish I would have thought about this earlier. I assumed all my applications would be greeted with "really white male, tell me about your diversity."

I'm guessing all 3 of you go to H/Y. I probably should just give up on this firm.

Got a ding from MoFo LA about two weeks back after a screener, wasn't too surprising because I knew the screener didn't go as well as other interviews I've had.

Gibson LA emailed last week letting me know they filled their diversity position. Sucks as that's a top choice for me and I had a grade request from them earlier in the week (no screener) but haven't yet received grades.

Linklaters LLP ding without grades or screener recently, was told they had already chosen their diversity 1L a while ago.

Waiting on 15-18+ others or so, couple of grade requests that I'm hoping will get done this week if I'm fortunate. Good luck to everyone and hopefully the thread stays active. No Weil interview request yet, but no ding either. I submitted that one later than I suspect most of you did (late December). At a T14 not HYS.

I don't know if Weil is done with interview requests but I applied in early January and received one.

This is getting hilarious. Obviously it was a diversity position...that's what this thread is about.

Dinged from K&L Gates. No transcript.

Do transcript requests mean anything? Or is it just like "we need a complete profile".

Not the original poster, but there are only 2 schools in Seattle in very different ranges. Unless that person is from outside of Seattle.

I have an interview with a boutique firm diversity program, and was told the interview will last two hours. Are first-round interviews typically this long? Or do you think this is a one-shot deal?

Mind sharing ethnicity? (I don't know if that would matter but I'd just like to know)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
