Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
(Original reply here.) No worries. I'm a good example of someone who progressed past "Application Received" but didn't move on to Finalist. I made it to "Selected for Further Consideration" for Civil (Appellate and Fed Programs), but no further.Anonymous User wrote:I stand corrected then. It just seems like everyone on here who progressed past "Application Received" have progressed to all subsequent stages so far, making me think they aren't really different stages at all. However, I have nothing to base this off of, and we may not be a very representative group.

I made it to finalist for Civil Division and have not heard anything further. Does anyone know if the division contacts your references prior to making you an offer because none of my references have contacted me to let me know that they've been contacted?

Anyone besides Civil and Antitrust people switch to finalist?
No switch here for immigration, but we did submit our supplementary materials later than other branches.

FYI none of my references for antitrust non-DC reported being contacted prior to me receiving an offer. I also spoke with some of them immediately after I got the offer and none mentioned it then either.Anonymous User wrote:same for me and antitrustAnonymous User wrote:I made it to finalist for Civil Division and have not heard anything further. I had never advanced past "Application received", and in fact the website still says that now. Civil Rights was my first choice.Anonymous User wrote:Any of the dings from civil? Were any of the dings to those that have advanced to finalist?

Yes, I had an interview. Antitrust always does interviews (at least this early in the game) as far as I am aware.Anonymous User wrote:did you have an interview or no?Anonymous User wrote:FYI none of my references for antitrust non-DC reported being contacted prior to me receiving an offer. Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
This is the poster who commented earlier about not having advanced past "Selected for further consideration" for Civil Division. Curiously, I have not received a rejection email from DOJ today (though two of my classmates who also applied to Civil Division received their rejection emails today, as have a few people on TLS in this forum), but my status is still marked at "Selected for further consideration." Thoughts on whether this is just slow email or something more (like an internal alternate)? I truly doubt that it's more than just slow email or the system forgetting to send me a rejection, but I thought I'd post this and see if anyone else had a similar experience.

Not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but Tax Division said I'd know before Thanksgiving. I have an offer pending from a District Judge, so I am keen to get a response.

I'm another Civil Division finalist - at least one of my references was contacted in the past week, but I haven't heard anything else.

So it does seem like only Civil and Antitrust have switched to finalist...
