Do hypos in an E&E until you can get those things right. There are a few points in law school where there is clearly a right/wrong answer (esp. in civ pro) and you should be nailing those. They're easy points on an exam.Veyron wrote:I guess it depends on what you mean by "understands" the material. I'm sure that I've got the basics but then I run into shit, like I try to do a RAP problem and get the wrong sort of estate and future interest 3 times in a row. Then I feel stupid. I'm sure I could explain the "basics" of property to anyone but that seems besides the point.rayiner wrote:LOL WUT.Veyron wrote:Meh, my competition is stiffer. Probably works out the same. Law skool material is cake what are you talking about? Everyone understands the material, that's the baseline. What differentiates people on the exam is how quickly and precisely they can apply it.

I would not have guessed top 5% at Fordham would do that well either, but I guess the low travel cost for callbacks/best school in NYC that pretty much only places in NYC (as opposed to Col/NYU) combination is potent.mistergoft wrote:This makes me want to /self.Anonymous User wrote:School range: T35

I'm not sure why this is surprising. Top-5% at any T1 should be getting an awful lot of callbacks, especially T1 schools with immediate access to major markets (UCD/H, Fordham, GW, BU, etc.)Bosque wrote:I would not have guessed top 5% at Fordham would do that well either, but I guess the low travel cost for callbacks/best school in NYC that pretty much only places in NYC (as opposed to Col/NYU) combination is potent.mistergoft wrote:This makes me want to /self.Anonymous User wrote:School range: T35

When you go up against people from lower ranked schools in court you have to sit down with them in advance and slowly explain things like consideration and negligence. Didn't they explain that in civ pro to you? If you missed that you're probably screwed at this point.Veyron wrote: Meh, my competition is stiffer. Probably works out the same. Also, as part of discovery you have to disclose you high school grades, college grades, ACT/SAT, LSAT, etc. Just to make sure those lower-ranked people aren't taken advantage of by brilliant people like yourself.

If Veyron gets a firm job, I really hope he tells the summer associates from lower ranked schools how proud he is of them for managing to learn the law even though it's so hard. They'll love him for understanding how hard life is for people with tiny brains, and the firm will be sure to make him an offer, because who wouldn't want to employ someone so collegial?JPU wrote:When you go up against people from lower ranked schools in court you have to sit down with them in advance and slowly explain things like consideration and negligence. Against such stiff competition if he can't grasp RAP, then no firm job for him. Seriously though, LOL @ the lower ranked schools comment. I wish I felt that important.SBL wrote: If Veyron gets a firm job, I really hope he tells the summer associates from lower ranked schools how proud he is of them for managing to learn the law even though it's so hard. First of all, most people can't grasp RAP. Second of all, give the kid a break.

Fiction sir. Anyone who isn't retarded could, with 1 hour of unbroken attention, grasp the RAP.Aqualibrium wrote:JPU wrote:Against such stiff competition if he can't grasp RAP, then no firm job for him. And the number of times in law school you've had 1 hour of unbroken attention? I'm guessing 6 - exams. Because that's the truth for me.Kohinoor wrote:Fiction sir. RAP seriously? Property is by far the easiest law school course. Now for Admin law, I'm half way through the course and have no idea what is happening/what I'm going to get tested on. RAP is at least something concrete that you can just learn and be done with.Kohinoor wrote:Fiction sir. Re: NEW final 2010 OCI results thread that are ACTUALLY FINAL
Sure, commoners like myself might not be expected to understand the RAP, but that's fine, because I attend a T30 law school, where most people spend most of their time attempting to pound star-shaped pegs into rectangular holes and then, upon failing to do so, cursing the vengeful god who to so torments their befuddled existences (until naptime, at least). Veyron, on the other hand, walks the hallowed halls of the University of Pennsylvania, surrounded by others who, like him, were BORN and BRED for SUCCESS and ACHIEVEMENT. As the cream of the intellectual crop, surely they can be expected to understand the RAP, taking a break from their studying only to gather at the local watering hole and cheer on their beloved Nittany Lions.Aqualibrium wrote:JPU wrote:Against such stiff competition if he can't grasp RAP, then no firm job for him. To be fair, non-mods would have been estopped from this long ago. To be equally fair, derailing threads to poke fun at people who say incredibly douchey things is a venerable TLS tradition, one which I neither started nor intend to stop, in this thread or elsewhere. If people want to get back on topic, neither I nor anyone else is stopping them.wiseowl wrote:

1. Have you gotten drunk fewer than 3 times a year in the last 10?
2. Can you name 4 composers who wrote only 9 numbered symphonies (bonus points for two more)?
3. Can you name 4 grapes traditionally found in red Bordeaux (bonus points for two more)?
4. Can you name the Marx brothers?
5. Can you disambiguate Metternich and Bismarck?

I have no idea if this test would divine with any reliability someone's age, but it seems like a really effective way to find out if someone is incredibly boring.quakeroats wrote:

I'm basically your twin. Resisting putting my numbers up because I am stubbornly insisting that 0 is not my final tally. At some point I need to just assume I'll be unemployed and decide which variety of misery I want the most. I really don't want to be at that point.Anonymous User wrote:Okay, people, back on track.
