Most people I've spoken to at NYU have in the low 20s, but not sure how representative that is of the whole class and not sure how to find the total number of interview slots bc I'm dumb.

Re: School OCI Data
A friend told me that ASU has 105 firms coming for OCI. He didn't specify, but I'm inclined to think that number represents resume collects, and possibly multiple offices from the same firm. Given that, do you think it's reasonable to assume 50-75 unique firms?

How do you figure out the # of interviews? Career services or is that data on symplicity?

Re: School OCI Data
It's not on symplicity. Some schools provide lists detailing how many interviews each firm will do once on campus.Big Shrimpin wrote:How do you figure out the # of interviews? Career services or is that data on symplicity?

I just want to confirm - are you sure this is correct?bwv812 wrote:\
GULC has something like 5610 interview slots for the non-IP schedule. Not good for a school over twice the size of Boalt. Assume a class size of 700 and full participation, and that's 8 interviews per student. Good thing we have 50 bids.

Re: School OCI Data
about 150-160 firms coming with an average of 42 interview slots. some 21 and some as high as 105. firms pick 60% of schedule and based on our bidding (we rank 35 firms) fordham fills 40% of their schedules. not bad ite. fordham traditionaly does way better than its rank as far as OCI.handydandy wrote:any word on OCI at Fordham?

Re: School OCI Data
So far, if I remember correctly, we have the following for hard stats:
Yale - 100% SA placement*
Harvard - 100% SA placement*
Stanford - 100% SA placement*
Columbia - 69% SA placement
NYU - 69% SA placement
Chicago - 69% SA placement
Berkeley - 40% SA placement
Virginia - XX% SA placement
Penn - XX% SA placement
Michigan - 50% SA placement
Northwestern - XX% SA placement
Duke - XX% SA placement
Cornell - 43% SA placement
Georgetown - XX% SA placement
*Potential placement.
I propose we fill in the stats for the rest of the T14 with actual hard data. Would people from the remaining schools do what they can to get some good information? This could be really helpful for future 0Ls deciding between schools.

I just this moment snagged another interview today through an open slot on symplicity. 17 so far. hopefully get a couple more by hitting some firms with some email and coverletters/hitting the signup sheets and hospitality suites early on Job Fair Days. anyone can do those things though. still pretty happy about how it shook out from bidding. never thought the lottery would work this well. better to be lucky than good.

the rest have always — even in boom times — been too afraid to release the data
what's with all the chicago hate, broski?
#1) i'm staring at an actual list here of students and employers for summer 2010 - i ran the numbers, others confirmed - so how is our 69% unofficial?
#2) i believe chicago was only one of two schools (along with duke) to release its complete list (for class of 2009) of employment data to lawschooltransparency - so how is that being too afraid (even in boom times) to release it?

Re: School OCI Data
The 2L employer list for michigan is out. i've seen it. i can manually count all the students at firms. but i think (after reading the list three times) roughly 40-50% is around on the dot. There were some omissions from the list, but overall it's decently complete.

0Ls need to understand that there's nothing law students can do to obtain this data. Many schools simply don't release it, and not because they are too 'afraid' too (notice how there's nothing available from Yale?).

no, I'm talking about percentage placed into (insert your favorite: big law at OCI, any job at OCI, NLJ 250, Amlaw 100, etc.) any given summer / year that was being asked for above.thechecker wrote:Most schools' career office list their OCI fall/spring schedules on their websites.disco_barred wrote:0Ls need to understand that there's nothing law students can do to obtain this data. just a bit of editorializing here but I think it's criminal that law schools generally and career services offices specifically actually get away with not releasing this information to their students.disco_barred wrote:no, I'm talking about percentage placed into (insert your favorite: big law at OCI, any job at OCI, NLJ 250, Amlaw 100, etc.) any given summer / year that was being asked for above.thechecker wrote:Most schools' career office list their OCI fall/spring schedules on their websites.disco_barred wrote:0Ls need to understand that there's nothing law students can do to obtain this data. Loyola Los Angeles has exactly 101 entries for Phases I and II (88 and 17). Some of these are resume forwards. Some firms have multiple entries for different offices.
Southwestern (the school I am transferring from) has 8 entries for Phase I.
