They've also bled PPP; I think they were over $1M at some point but are apparently down to $780k. So it makes sense that they'd eventually have to cry uncle; but LOL at broadcasting your failure to compete like that. Shit, it's okay if you can't bench two plates, but I wouldn't announce it to the whole locker room.Anonymous User wrote:The Kelley Drye thing makes even less sense though since afaik they don't pay market (I believe 1st years start at 145k). So why bother chest thumping about not following cravath et al?

STB incoming associates got a separate email a few hours after the match bumping us up to 180 (for 2016 and the requisite bumps for advanced standing - MBAs/Clerkships). The email had the memo sent to current associates attached. Summer associates apparently got a shorter email bumping them up to $3500/wk.Anonymous User wrote:C/O 2016 going to PW, and I didn't get anything directly.Anonymous User wrote:Question for everyone receiving news from their firms: are incoming associates starting this fall (coming off a clerkship or C/O 2016) getting emails with the news from the firm itself, or hearing indirectly?

If I were in DC right now, I'd park outside the office with a tub of popcorn and just watch the drama through the glass walls.Br3v wrote:What is going on in the office at Covington right now? It has got to be tense.

Maybe some of those glass walls from Nixon Peabody for the transparency, democracy and connection to pull in millennial moths. They are at Covington. It's worth putting up with below-market compensation when the partner takes the time to clearly explain why you need to work until 4 a.m.Anonymous User wrote:Whoah whoah, that's crazy. So, DC offices that have matched:
-Winstron Strawn
-Paul Weiss
-Cooley
-Sullivan and Cromwell
-Skadden
-STB
-Freshfields
-K&E
-Milbank
-Cleary
-DPW
-Cahill
-Debevoise
-Weil
But, Covington says $180k is not the going rate in DC. I hope all the Covington associates start leaving

When do we think we'll see some of the other NY based firms? W&C; FF; Shearman; Cad?

I dunno. WSGR can be pretty late in joining the party sometimes, especially w/r/t bonuses. Wouldn't be surprised if we dragAnonymous User wrote:Fenwick associate here. Thrilled as well.
