I should probably read a bit more before impulsively seeing the ATL article during a random 2 minute afternoon break and then posting on TLS. Maybe A&P or another big DC player will seize this opportunity to one-up big bad C&B?

WInston has less than 100 attorneys total, that wouldn't make a difference. Skadden + Latham + Kirkland + Gibson might be enough. Hard to say, I would thinklionelhutz123 wrote:Skadden and Winston have sizable DC offices. So do other firms likely to go 180 nationally, e.g. Kirkland, Sidley, Latham.
So how soon until CovingTTTon pulls a 180 to go 180?

Boston, unlike DC, is still very dominated by the traditional big firms there. I can't imagine Ropes not going to 180 at some point, but they're not going to feel the pressure like firms in other markets.Anonymous User wrote:When will the big Boston firms do something?

His quote was meant for clients. He is probably of the view the market for lawyers is over saturated and he will still be able to recruit good enough people.Monochromatic Oeuvre wrote:They were paying $160k in NYC since 2007, but may not have paid market for midlevels (and sure as shit weren't paying market bonuses). They've also bled PPP; I think they were over $1M at some point but are apparently down to $780k. So it makes sense that they'd eventually have to cry uncle; but LOL at broadcasting your failure to compete like that. Shit, it's okay if you can't bench two plates, but I wouldn't announce it to the whole locker room.Anonymous User wrote:The Kelley Drye thing makes even less sense though since afaik they don't pay market (I believe 1st years start at 145k). So why bother chest thumping about not following cravath et al?

Anon was just being sloppy. He meant "raised" from 160, not "I call your 180 and raise to 190!"imalreadyamember? wrote:Can we get an IP ban here?Anonymous User wrote:Kirkland just raised.
