Anyone interview with Covington? I had a screener but haven't heard about a CB yet and wonder if they're ghosting.

How are people receiving offers from Weil and STB? Phone?

Received a Skadden DC screener invite today

I'm at a T6, probably top 20% or so.

Received rejection from DPW today (no screener). Also got email from Debevoise requesting practice areas...does everybody who sends in an app get this? See that others have also gotten the email but were told to apply OCI. Debevoise doesn’t interview at my T25’s OCI.

Nope. They told me to pound sand and see them at OCI (which I have no intention of doing) - didn't even bother to ask for my practice areas.

If a firm tells you they'll have an answer by X date and X date is rapidly passing by that's probably not good news yeah? Asking for someone who's very distracted from productive work rn.

Feeling this X 100. Was told by DPW not to be surprised if it took weeks to hear, but was told by Weil that I would hear by today at the latest and STB said they'd make decisions as soon as possible which it sounds like they are doing.

Wondering if preferred practice group has anything to do with it (to make myself feel better). Those receiving offers—transactional or lit preferred?

Not Skadden DC but another firm and the same situation. Pretty frustrating but what else can you do but wait - the good (?) thing is, things tend to pick up in July

So I got into HLS today and will be transferring. I have callbacks/screeners at assorted NYC firms. I obviously need to update these firms and this sounds dumb but. . . . will losing guaranteed law review and my top 5% GPA (T20) for no grades/rank at Harvard hurt my chances at these firms?

Any advice on how to update these firms?

Anybody else do that horrid Skadden assessment? That was a mix of LSAT questions and pattern q’s that you’d think was for an investment banking position? Sheesh!

Meh interviews with 2 people. 1 was weirdly aggressive about pushing me on my "Why Weil" to the point I couldn't really give more detail, and a partner and I just didn't click. I mentioned a couple Chambers rankings about practice areas (in the sense Weil had great rankings) and he seemed extremely turned off by that.

I actually really liked the other two I talked to. My view is with firms this big I'm not going to assume bad luck with who I interview with is indicative of whether I'd like the firm. But, onwards. Only need 1 offer and getting a Skadden DC screener really improved my mood.
