Remember to find current associate TLS'ers by using the secret signal: flail both arms like a bird and shriek "I am a poster on Top-Law-Schools.com!"

Wouldn't have been bad if I hadn't been finishing papers during the first week.

From a personal taste perspective or professional enough footwear perspective? They're professional enough for any day other than ultra conservative business suit day. You can wear em any time you'd wear a blucher/derby and probably with a suit. Wouldn't wear em to court or the like

Bring a suit. Taking a jacket off is easier than making one magically appear.

When people talk about leaving a suit in your office, they mean full suit and not just the jacket right? If so, and a situation comes up where you need to put on your suit, do you just change pants in your office? What if someone walks in on you while changing and sees your Superman boxers? Does Allen Edmonds make boxers?

sup y'all!
#nooffer2k17 question: is it cool to ask for a day off for a religious holiday? i would totally be willing to work from home and stuff, but I am usually not in my hometown over the summer and would love to be with my fam.

I don't think this would be a problem at all. Just give ample notice.

Likely, yes. If you want to play it safe for the first "jeans day," wear a white/blue (might be too much blue, though) oxford then adjust accordingly on subsequent "jeans days."
OR, go textualist:

So what are y'alls thoughts on pantyhose? I'll be in Houston if that makes a difference.

I'm in a midwestern secondary, not TX but I wore them today for my first day. My firm is business causal though and specifically said that hoisery is not required for women in the dress code during orientation.

What is the consensus on wearing a white tee under button down shirts? I always do this when buttoning up for a suit/tie, but I'm working at a business casual firm so the top button will usually be open, and I feel like it looks decidedly dorky and low class to have a white t collar popping out from under, say, a blue or lavender shirt. But at the same time I don't want to risk sweating through my button down and the tee gives some nice protection from that. Would wearing a white tank top instead work, or is that some sort of faux pas?

V neck undershirts will solve your problem. I would not go for a tank top (I assume you mean a wife beater) as that seems odd with business attire.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
