Stayed past midnight for the second time, but this time it wss my fault and on a nonbillable matter and I was stupid enough to be self shamed out of expensing car service doesn't feel great.

Fucking supplement update on foreign tax that my partner has put off doing for 15 years until he got a stub year associate to do it. I was dumb for not expensing it.

You guys are lucky. It's the opposite for me. I catch/correct my boss's fuck up and he apologizes to me. I've never been yelled at. Complimented 3 times already on 3 assignments. But i fear rekt coming soon with this winning streak. It's bound to happen. Nobody gets away just being "good work guy" for so long.

i don't think i've ever done 0 work on a non-holiday/vacation. but often just a couple hours.

That obviously sucks but, on the bright side, it's a real good thing to get integrated quickly and develop some early goodwill (if you do good work and play your cards right) while still fresh.

yeah i've yet to do any work on a vacation now 2+ years in. take 3-4 weeks each year

yea i mean i'm exaggerating obviously there must be weekends where i didn't work but it's the exception. but i work from home a lot and often don't work "full" days during the week so i dunno maybe voluntary, maybe stockholm syndrome.

oh you meant weekends. damn man, i've had stretches where i work consistently both wekeend days for 2+ months, but billing 0.0 on a weekend day is still my most common occurrence

I'm inventing a strategy called Bill 60 (TM). Bill 60 the first week of the month and then totally slack the rest. Literally leave when I finish my todo list.

I guess if you just have a lot of work and work 6 hours friday, 2 sat, 3 sun, instead of 11 on friday, thats just your choice. But are people making you do stuff on teh actual weekend (baring exceptional circumstances.)

mix of both. rarely get something on the weekend that needs to be done that day (unless legit emergency or just a quick answer). but i don't get the sense that anyone is holding back because it's the weekend.
