I should have clarified that I'm a transfer, but no results yet for transfers. Someone indicated previously on this thread that results for transfers come out after regular student results come out but was hoping for today but "Results are not available at this time."
Transfer student here. I emailed OJA and they said they will try to upload journal results by the end of this week. Good luck everyone!

Quick question for the TLS hivemind: I just picked up an interview off the open sign-ups (or, as I call it, the "waiver wire") for a very good firm that I didn't happen to bid initially just because this office is fairly small and I didn't want to burn the sort of high bid I'd need to use in order to secure an interview on them. Is it a futile exercise to interview with this firm given that I didn't originally bid it?

Thanks for your help!

Unless you clearly don't have the grades for it, I don't see what could possibly be futile about it. Bidding doesn't do anything but get you the interview. If you have the opportunity to get an interview another way, take it as fast as you can. One less firm to mass mail later.

Being IP must be great. Looks like every IP interview is still open, and quite literally nothing else left.

Yeah I have no clue what this guy is talking about. Almost every IP only firm that has spots open has available slots in NY and/or DC.

I've read people saying that some particular firms look to see if people came to their hospitality suite via a login sheet, and it is a factor in giving initial interviews and call backs. Does this mean that we should go to the hospitality suites of firms that we have screeners with during EIW? If so, what do we do/say there since we already had an interview with them?

So...I only went for GLJ...and didn't get it...probably dumb in retrospect. In the top 5/10% or so...are there some firms that absolutely require some journal?

Trying to do lit, and I get that W&C basically requires GLJ, but will not having some journal ban me from other top DC firms?

Alternatively, any DC firms that don't care at all about journal?

Appreciate any anecdotes or thoughts. Looking at firm bios of gulc alums and its worrying me somewhat.

Don't stress. It's not at all a requirement, and it really doesn't matter that much at all. Most firms don't care. At top 5/10%, you'll do fine as long as you act like a normal human in your interviews. I know it's a stressful experience, but take a deep breath. Many brilliant people with successful careers have awesome jobs and did not get on the main journal. Perspective.

I picked up a firm last year off the waiver wire and got a call back out of it. I know someone else who did the same.

I've got back-to-back interviews. Is willing to swap a Baker Botts (NY) slot?

I have so many back to back interviews it's not even worth trading at this point.

From folks who have done this in the past, how bad are back-to-backs? I have three back to back one morning alone, then another two later that day, and some more on the other days. Are firms generally understanding or do I need to strategically sleight the firms I care about less? Go figure GULC would find a way to fuck us even when we GET the damn screeners.

Back to back interviews are pretty bad. Interviews never start on time and never finish early, so you'll run over or cut it close.

Firms are understanding I think but it still sucks.

Bad as in, it's torturous, or as in it looks really bad.

More the former than the latter. I can't speak as to how firms think but I can tell you doing 3 interviews back to back and running to keep on time was just an extra infusion of stress I didn't need.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
