Haven't actually gone on my CB yet. Do you think they're waiting for that?SLS_AMG wrote:Have you heard back from your first choice regarding an offer? FWIW, I applied to LA (only that office) right after getting grades, and I got a CB offer a little over a week after applying. Got offer at end of CB. IDK how the multiple office application thing works, though I'd assume that if you got a CB from your first choice, the 2nd office doesn't consider you.

Same story for me. My thought is that the second choice is more applicable if you say apply to chicago and they don't have room or don't like you and then you might get NY or LA. This is pure speculation but I don't know why Quinn would let you just shop around because you can't make up your mind. But again no inside knowledge here.Anonymous User wrote:FWIW, I applied to LA (only that office) right after getting grades, and I got a CB offer a little over a week after applying. I personally know people who split between QE offices so at some point both offices have to consider people.Anonymous User wrote:FWIW, I applied to LA (only that office) right after getting grades, and I got a CB offer a little over a week after applying. Re: Quinn Emanuel Hiring Timeline
People definitely split, but I'm guessing that maybe they allow you to preference two offices in case you're interested in splitting, and in that case they deal with it later? I don't think a single person in this thread has mentioned getting a CB from their second choice but not from their first -- in fact, I don't think a single person has mentioned getting a CB from their second choice at all. I doubt you have to interview with both offices to split. By the same token, I'm sure if you're rejected at one after a CB you're rejected at both.
ETA: Only thing I can think of other than showing an early preference for a potential split is that they have limited slots for each office, and the second-round (and later) candidates may be out of the running for the more popular/filled offices (assuming they preferenced them as #1), so perhaps they contact them if the less in-demand offices still have slots open?

That makes a lot of sense. We'll see if that's how it works.SLS_AMG wrote:People definitely split, but I'm guessing that maybe they allow you to preference two offices in case you're interested in splitting, and in that case they deal with it later? Just curious, any non-IP people get a CB to SF/SV?

Not true necessarily. If you get an offer from one office you might be able to negotiate/ask for a summer split with another office, even without a second callback. Especially when your first CB office was a smaller office and you want to split with a larger office.Anonymous User wrote:I personally know people who split between QE offices so at some point both offices have to consider people.Anonymous User wrote:FWIW, I applied to LA (only that office) right after getting grades, and I got a CB offer a little over a week after applying. Would agree with first anon that if you are dinged from your first choice office, you are dinged for all offices.

Re: Quinn Emanuel Hiring Timeline
I don't think that anyone should be waiting for or worrying about a second CB. The e-mail I got after the spring recruiting event says this:
"If you are interested in multiple offices, please email the office you are most interested in, but mention your second-choice office in your cover letter and copy that office’s recruitment contact on the email. ... If you are extended a callback, it will be for your first choice."
The last sentence is missing from the reminder e-mail I got this summer, but I imagine the policy still stands.

Re: Quinn Emanuel Hiring Timeline
Would it be inappropriate to email my Quinn office contact person that I'd be interested in working in their soon to be Houston office? I haven't gotten a callback yet, but I haven't been rejected either. If QE TX is a thing happening soon, I'd go there in a second and above any other place.

I got a reply from the NY office to let them know when journal results come out and that they'll be waiting... Good sign???
I'm sorry I don't have any idea about GPA ranges but at least top 20% at MVP

Probably just buying time, Quinn does not care what journal your on unless you graded on to law reviewAnonymous User wrote:I got a reply from the NY office to let them know when journal results come out and that they'll be waiting... Good sign???

Anyone know if you get dinged from your first choice if you still have a chance with your second choice?

I still haven't applied b/c all of my grades weren't in until the end of June, and I wanted to get my resume reviewed. Do you think it's too late for me to apply?
Here's my profile: 3Hs, 1P at Y; student note forthcoming in a secondary journal; interested solely in DC (no ties elsewhere, but ties to DC area).

If I were you I'd still apply. It isn't hard to apply and they will be interested as soon as they see your Y email address.Anonymous User wrote:I still haven't applied b/c all of my grades weren't in until the end of June, and I wanted to get my resume reviewed.
