You are almost certain to be taken out to a very nice (and long) lunch every day. Enjoy. Be prepared to gain at least 5 pounds. Be aware this will have zero resemblance to what life as an associate will be like.

That actually brings up an issue, different firms probably want slightly different things. Like we're not supposed to use past tense.

My firm told us clients don't like to see "meeting" for some reason, so we were instructed to write something along the lines of "office conference with P. Artner regarding XYZ."

Just curious, what's the point of your shitposting ITT? This is a new experience for us; allow us to relish it while we can.

I bet that there was a point in time when your Blackberry buzzed in the middle of the night and you were actually excited to get summoned to the firm. I don't know how many years it takes for that excitement to wear off, but there's no need for you to try to rush the process. I'm sure we'll be like you - a bitter, petulant and jaded associate - soon enough.

You give some good advice every now and again, and I appreciate it when you do. Nonetheless, you're a bit too fond of taking your frustrations out on an Internet message board. Find a different hobby.

The thread is an outlet for all the crazy that goes on in our head but we don't want to outwardly express. The whole making fun of summers thing works against that. Chilling effect and whatnot.
