I'm the poster from the top of this page. Browsing the thread, it seems I'm the only person OMM dinged by phone. I actually had a formal ding letter follow a few days later.

Obviously, that's probably closer to the truth, though the sadistic angle is more fun to whine about. He was very gracious on the phone and offered me feedback that was simultaneously helpful and not-too-insulting, so it was a nice touch.

not sure if this belongs here but since your all speaking about CBs...I had a callback and everything went really smoothly except with one of the partners, I was mentioning something that I worked for tangentially when speaking on the topic of "relating to clients" and I blanked on the name of the organization...after a few seconds I made it clear to her what I was referring to, but it wasnt smooth.

Is this fatal?

Any one go on a Chadbourne & Parke (DC) CB. They only have 2 positions, just trying to gauge the number of people going.

Yes. Or maybe no.

it doesn't sound like the biggest deal. I mean, you likely met with a few more people, I doubt you'll loose it based on that

Just got back. This happened. Am speechless.

For what it's worth, dinner was with three midlevel associates. They explicitly said they don't do same day offers anymore as a general rule, but it didn't sound like I was literally the first (or last) of this cycle either.
