H&K has already mailed some post-CB dings.

Some of both offers and post-CB dings have gone out.

Any more anecdotal evidence on Miami firms, despite their insistence on demonstrable interest in the area, being really bad judges of said interest? I've heard of several market strikeouts for people honestly set on Miami, CBs to people who have literally never set foot in the state, and at least two offers that were subsequently declined for NYC offers, which is what they always point to as their biggest fear and why they grill about ties. Seems like they just aren't the best at actually judging applicants' stories, ding and offer the wrong people, get burned and have to scramble to put together their class, get pissed and promise NEVER AGAIN WITH THE OUT-OF-TOWNERS, and double down on an at least anecdotally flawed strategy year after year.

The good news is since FIU Law has made really great inroads in Miami since its founding and UM/UF will always churn out more than enough JDs to fill their tiny summer classes, they'll still have plenty of local talent when the rest of the country just stops even bothering.

Top 20% at T10, LR, Moot Court, lived in South Florida my entire life. Struck out in Miami, happily accepting V5 NYC instead. Ridiculous market to break into straight out of law school.

This isn't an example of what he was asking for. Would you really have taken a Miami firm over a V5 NYC? No. They made the right decision here, clearly.

I would, too. I skipped OCI because I had an offer here, and I'm pretty sure I'd have snagged V5 without too much trouble. NYC is not the be-all, end-all for everyone.

I made that comment because "happily accepting" the V5 gig doesn't read to me as though the poster was 100% set on Miami. If I have misunderstood, perhaps the poster could have phrased that better.

For anyone waiting on GT, I called to follow up and they said they would be letting us know Friday or Monday.

Ridiculous. They can never just give a straight up answer. They've been saying "you'll hear this week" for weeks now to many people, and we're almost through September.
