Dudes. Don't worry. This was the exact same phenomenon last year. Everyone was depressed, sad, and around 80% got something at a firm. That includes those who got near or at the bottom of the class. Firms each take a Chicago kid or two a year. Alumni want us at the firms. There aren't that many of us.

It is natural for firms to take the best first. They all hope that LR top 10% kid will take them over the highly ranked vault firm, especially in the tertiary markets. However, they also plan to take more Chicago kids. They just want a shot at the best first. It is logical for them to do so. Eventually, they will take the medianish people. It happens every single year.
