Gibson Dunn NY called people back? Man. I thought my interviewer all but told me straight up that I was getting called back, but s/he neither called me nor gave me the (ever-elusive) note.

I heard a rumor about certain offices/interviewers handing out notes on the spot (maybe inviting them to some kind of a callback dinner?).Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Gibson Dunn NY called people back? What is the note? I've never gotten a 'note' in an interview.
Truth or law school lore? Who knows. But apparently the NY office called people back

some of the Denver people (I'm not sure about other offices) got some invite to a super-secret dinner.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Gibson Dunn NY called people back? Man. It seems to me that Schulte is switching from the latter strategy to the former one this year. Seriously, I do not know anybody who got dinged by the firm.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Anyone else see the Dechert callback numbers from last year? Sooo many.
Yeah, quite, quite high. I've gotten the sense from EIP that some firms CB a very large # of people to do a more intense interview and then offer only a relatively small # compared to the CB # v. those firms that don't call back as many, but have a high % of offers compared to CBs.

I don't think I know anyone who interviewed at Schulte and didn't get CBed.

Sample size is not significant, but off the top of my head... I know 7 people who interviewed, and they all got a callback within a day.
Last year Schulte asked 25% of their interviewees back for CB. Maybe I just happen to hang out with people that fit the Schulte profile perfectly, or maybe they are asking more people back.
