Anyone know when they may start doing a second round of CB invites? Like for those that didn't meet their original criteria/first round of people.

Not quoted OP, but What are you talking about? Of course they would be anon, the journal offer process extends weeks and just began Saturday (with no indication Law Review itself must start the same day). It would be extremely uncouth to out being on Law Review not via anon, and even saying "I know law review offers are being extended at NU" is a round-about way of saying you got on law review. Even this rant could be construed as the same, which is why it is also anon.

No. I found out about my secondary journal after scheduling my callback, and nobody even asked if I had found out about journal results during the interview.

Top 10% at DCNG.

one-week anon
Two weeks and waiting, top 40% at a T6.

Do you figure there's a ding for us in the mail, or are they just holding us as backups, or..?

Could be either.

I know someone last cycle who got an offer after a month. So there's that.

Like they dinged you? Email or snail?

Sorry to hear. NY sounds competitive this year judging by this thread. Do you know if they forward your app to Chicago now, or are you just out of luck?

Congrats on LR though.

It's like they're reading the thread and thought they'd put us out of our misery. FWIW, Median T14, no ding yet at NY. Submitted early June.

Would be it wise to email a partner with whom I had a good conversation with at the reception? I sent a thank you and received a reply following reception, but I feel that it would be hard for an email to sound like anything other than 'hey, I know we met and talked once, and I want to work for your firm, but still haven't heard back, maybe you could do something.' Has anyone else done this? Top 20% at CCN.

Can't hurt if you phrase it well. Perhaps mention to the partner that you applied, update him or her on what's been happening since you last spoke (school activities, summer job, anything interesting...I wouldn't mention grades unless asked aside from mentioning school/finals went well) and that you would like to re-express your interest in the firm. The partner should be able to read between the lines and will reach out to recruiting if he/she liked you and wants to help.

If you have to seriously remind the partner who you are because you haven't had any contact since the reception, this probably won't work.

Guys, how are you listing second choices and such. Do you just apply to one office and tell them what your second choice is? Or do you email two offices? I applied to LA last week but would also like to apply to SF or NY

I believe the credited response is to CC the second office.

"If you are interested in multiple offices, please email the office in which you are most interested and mention your second-choice office in your cover letter (cc-ing your second-choice office’s recruiting contact on the email). You can find the contact information for all of our U.S. office recruiters listed below."

Any news from LA recently? I applied there as a 2d choice office. Got a CB from 1st choice within 24 hours but nothing from LA in a while. Wondering if LA moving slow or significantly harder or if they just really don't like giving CBs at 2d choice offices...

Have you heard back from your first choice regarding an offer? Quinn allows splits between offices, so I'd think you could talk about it post-offer, but if it was a ding I doubt another office will give you a second Quinn CB.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
