I was told recently by a partner at a firm that one of the drivers for hiring a 3L at this time of year is a candidate applying who they like coupled with a departure by a first year associate after bonuses... That said, does anyone know any firms where a first year associate recently left?

They're telling me to apply to jobs that want at least 1 year experience, which would be great if I didn't get instant rejections.
