Re: Fordham OCI Thread 2011 -- All We Need Is One
I'm going to do OCI next year, I'm a 1L.
I'm wondering if any of you can PM me and discuss some things as I have a few questions and am in need of some guidance. Would really appreciate it.
Great job though, I hope I'm going to be rocking it next year in August as well

while it's great to think big picture, it is way too early in the game to worry about SA jobs when you're three weeks into 1L year. way too many variables are undetermined to even begin thinking about where you'll end up...what your grades will be, what journal you'll be on, etc.Lolek wrote:I'm going to do OCI next year, I'm a 1L.

i don't think we can know this information until the CPC publishes the Offer Tracker for this year, which definitely won't be for a while...and it won't include class rank information.Anonymous User wrote:how is the school doing overall in OCI?

it's definitely above 10%...I'm on LR, and while there may be some out there, I don't know anyone on LR that does not have an offer. Also know of 4 friends not on LR with offers on Urban, Corporate, and ILJ respectively who have offers.Anonymous User wrote:how is the school doing overall in OCI?

My guess would be it is at least upwards of 20%.
EDIT - sorry...misread your post. top 10 is probably killing it, top 25 doing decently. after that its probably tough, median likely getting shut out, save for a few outliers.

What was the final tally on OCI this year? I just got into Fordham, weighing a few different schools though and I'm interested to know.

we don't get an official "tally", but based on conjecture i'd say 25-30% safely got big law jobs through oci. wouldn't be surprised if that number was closer to 33%.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:it's definitely above 10%...I'm on LR, and while there may be some out there, I don't know anyone on LR that does not have an offer. Re: Fordham OCI Thread 2011 -- All We Need Is One
Concurring. By all accounts, slightly better than our year. These are not official numbers, however. I am on ULJ and many of my fellow journal members seemed happy, though I saw a high correlation between strong WE and biglaw for people in the top third. I also saw (purely anecdotally) more people with lower grades getting callbacks than seemed to happen last year, which I took as a good thing, though this could be a matter of perspective, since no one has complete numbers.DrGuano wrote:we don't get an official "tally", but based on conjecture i'd say 25-30% safely got big law jobs through oci. wouldn't be surprised if that number was closer to 33%.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:it's definitely above 10%...I'm on LR, and while there may be some out there, I don't know anyone on LR that does not have an offer. Does this indicate that strong WE came into play particularly at the margins (25-33%), or that a lot of students without it in the top 25% got shut out?
