Do you mean are they using it for a further weeding out?
A bit, or at least "we still need to go back to the office and decide who we want to call back but we aren't rejecting you outright yet". I guess we will know if there are 30 people there tonight, or just a few..

Mr. Urquhart told me that all dinner invitees are invited for CBs, but additional CB offers would be made to non dinner invitees.

curious if you folks with more knowledge/experience at these sort of things can tell me when i can officially write-off a kirkland callback. i have (luckily) gotten them with similarly ranked firms in chi, dc and nyc but, alas, they appear to not want me though the interview went well.
