Care to explain why boies is not on your wall of shame? They have not matched, and ATL coverage indicates their unique comp system has fallen behind.

Good afternoon. My name is Justin Weber and I'm a legal recruiter with SMTM Legal Search. I'm working with the DC office of an elite firm that pays market, and they are looking for associates with strong legal experience who want to be paid competitively. If you know of anyone who might be interested in learning more about this opportunity, please let me know and I will forward a detailed job description.
Best Regards,
Justin

Seriously do you have any idea how hard it is to get by in McLean on (roughly) $1,543,000/year?? It's not like you can send your kids to those shit NOVA public schools!

Surprised about this one b/c their RPL is only $566,000, PPP is only 1.3M, and with crazy leverage ratio. Perhaps their US attorneys make significant more than the average numbers?Anonymous User wrote:Baker McKenzie match with bonuses.

If Baker really matched with the bonus, the names on this list are all the more striking. Even if they didn't, these handful of remaining firms are striking.Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:V25 Wall of Shame:

$1.3MM PPP, highly levered, and a ton of associates. Pretty embarrassing for firms like Greenberg ($1.6MM PPP) and Reed Smith ($1.2MM PPP) that proactively embarrassed themselves by releasing statements about how their associates didn't deserve an extra penny of profits from their slumlord partners, and for firms like Cooley ($2.1MM PPP) that would rather play hide-the-ball shell games with their associates than just give them summer bonuses like other firms.Anonymous User wrote:Baker McKenzie match with bonuses.

Re: NYC to 200k
I was a summer in 2016 at a V10 that was quick to match both then and now, and this definitely did not happen for us. I feel like that should have been bigger news if it happened everywhere! Getting a bonus as if we were paid at $180k for the whole summer would have been about a $2k difference vs. the raise taking effect on July 1.Anonymous User wrote:Yes, but I'm pretty sure all firms do this.Barrred wrote:So Munger is raising pay for first year associates to 190K starting July 1, and doing the same for summer associates retroactive to the beginning of the summer. Unless I am missing something, doesn't this mean that for about a month or two (the start of the summer program to July 1) Munger will have effectively paid summer associates more than first year associates? I'd be pissed if I were a Munger first year if that's the case.
I was a summer during the 180k raises, and we got a bonus that reflected the additional amount we would've earned had we been paid 180 for the full 10 weeks.

Baker matching is huge. They're a behemoth with offices in every major market. If they can match, any V50 can and should match.

lol at these guys complaining they "many departments" "won't get close" to the annual billing requirements. if that's the case, shouldn't they be happy that (a) they aren't working much and still getting paid $190k a year, and (b) their firm is still paying bonuses at all despite seemingly not having a lot of workflow.

Based on the ATL post, it seems like Baker McKenzie is doing exactly what Cooley is doing - they've stated that they plan on paying summer bonuses at year end with EOTY bonuses.Anonymous User wrote:$1.3MM PPP, highly levered, and a ton of associates. If anything, we should be shitting on Schulte Roth, who is boning associates that have taken time off or vacations in the early part of the year by tying summer bonuses to YTD hours

I think they're upset because in reality most associates won't sniff these summer bonuses because they don't have the hours at this point.Anonymous User wrote:https://abovethelaw.com/2018/06/biglaw- ... -is-happy/
