^this last sentence is key. I didn't get my first or second choice firms, even though my grades were clearly sufficient. That has made no difference in my career, but more importantly you have ti rill with the endemic randomness in the processRSN wrote:Most likely that means you're out, but depending on the firm's process, you might not be totally sunk. Some firms will keep some candidates on a "maybe" list and not give them a CB initially, but if several of the candidates they do offer CBs to turn them down, they may then turn to the maybe list. Of course, odds are low and it doesn't make sense to hold out hope for a particular firm, especially when you have two more days of screeners to go. Key to remember through this process not to get too attached to any one firm.Anonymous User wrote:Yes and no. If callbacks are by phone it'll take at least some time to call through the list. Beyond that, While it's not impossible to still get a call, typically, you are likely to be out of luck.Anonymous User wrote:If someone with the same interviewer has CB does that mean you're out?

FWIW, I'm pretty sure everyone who got invited to the dinner last year ended up getting a callback.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone hear from GDC LA/OC? Post dinner

Interviewer called to invite me to a CB and I was in another interview and didn't answer. She just said that recruiting would be in touch and to call if I had questions. Should I call her back and thank her for the opportunity?

I asked my advisor the same question. She said yes. Call the interviewer as well as the recruiting ppl.Anonymous User wrote:Interviewer called to invite me to a CB and I was in another interview and didn't answer. I'd just call the number to set up the callback.Anonymous User wrote:Interviewer called to invite me to a CB and I was in another interview and didn't answer. She just said that recruiting would be in touch and to call if I had questions. Should I call her back and thank her for the opportunity?

It's also fine to just email the lawyers who did your screener and say something like "Thank you very much for extending a callback. I look forward to meeting more members of the Firm."Tiago Splitter wrote:I'd just call the number to set up the callback.Anonymous User wrote:Interviewer called to invite me to a CB and I was in another interview and didn't answer. Yeah for sure. I just wouldn't worry about contact with that person having any impact on the ultimate decision. Unless you have a unique connection with them, they've done their job and are passing the baton to the people you meet at the callback.Anonymous User wrote:It's also fine to just email the lawyers who did your screener and say something like "Thank you very much for extending a callback. Is it me, or do these interviews seem to be VERY grade dependent? Which is ridiculous because a) we only have 7 grades and b) grades are very arbitrary. I know some very brilliant people who aren't Stone/Kent
