Has anyone heard back from DLA Piper, Venable, or Ballard Spahr in Baltimore?? Had a callback interview at 1 of those but haven't heard from them in a few weeks.

Does anyone happen to know the timeline for these 1L positions? After a callback, how much time before you know its a ding?

I think it really depends on the market, how competitive you are for the job, and their hiring process.Anonymous User wrote:Does anyone happen to know the timeline for these 1L positions? After a callback, how much time before you know its a ding?
I received two offers for Texas market firms within 48 hours of my winter break callbacks. One NYC firm offered me a full two weeks after. A DC firm took a week and a half.
Firms that know that they want to get a better sense of their applicant pool before deciding have been telling me as such - "it might be awhile before you hear from us..."
I would anticipate that as slots fill up, hiring will probably be a little slower as firms juggle rejected offers as well as trying to make sure they keep slots open for future interviewees.
Just keep hustling but don't assume you've been dinged until you've been told so - also if you have another offer with an impending deadline, feel free to let firms know, mine have been very receptive to that fact.

On a related note -- do you think it would be rude to ask for a decision for the Latham diversity conference sooner rather than later? It overlaps with some of the other diversity weekends, and they have RSVP deadlinesAnonymous User wrote:any Latham LA updates?

Not at all trying to be mean, but I think if you haven't heard yet, you aren't going to receive an invite. I received one already a few weeks ago, and within the invite, they asked me to RSVP on a date that had already passed, lol. It seems like they had sent out invites already, but just sent mine out as a concession because I was rejected for the 1L SA position.Anonymous User wrote:On a related note -- do you think it would be rude to ask for a decision for the Latham diversity conference sooner rather than later? Lol I just had a Latham DC callback recently so I'm really hoping they haven't filled their diversity fellowship class...
