If ppl are still answering the phones, you can call the same night, but there's no harm in waiting til business hours.
Nope, different screeners might make calls on different days. One screener might have 5 calls to make and only get to one or two of them one night. One screener might have four spots and only two people that were definites and might want to sleep on the last two spots. I'm not saying to wait forever, but give it a week from the time you heard of the first CB.
i'm not clear how this point is responsive to me or the original question
SML meant to quote the post below. On your point, I scheduled my first CB well after business hours this evening. There's no harm in calling, because if they're there you can schedule, and if they're not no one will answer the phone.
Anonymous User wrote:Do firms make calls in one sitting/day? (i.e. if you haven't heard from any of the firms mentioned above, does that mean you didn't get a CB?)
Yah, this. Whoops.

I think if you haven't heard back in 48 hours, you're not out of the running altogether but your chances have diminished greatly by that point.

Not true. I do screeners for my firm. Not unusual to have a spread of several days. For example, I may have one candidate who is an easy yes in my own group, so I can give out the callback right away. Then I have to travel back to the office, probably stopping by other schools on my way, get the paperwork to the right people, discuss with the decision makers in each group. So callbacks from my office will take several days and may not all come at once.

Wouldn't waste time reading tea leaves. You'll hear one way or the other by next week.
