Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
Last year when they calculated the multiplier stats I talked w/ SPs in the know about this and they stated that it was off the base. Maybe that will change this year but I doubt it. I agree it's somewhat semantics but it allows them to report (or at least internally maintain) a higher "multiplier" vs. if they were doing it off the base + special.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 12:04 pmIt’s just semantics though - unless they explain this a bit at the Surprise Zoom. But to continue using a 4th year example, if they get a memo that says “Your bonus is $112.5k,” then that’s either 1.3x with the special on top or 1.25x on the whole thing. We wouldn’t really know how the firm put it together.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 11:58 am99% the multiplier will be based off of the DPW scale and then they'll add in the DPW special bonus on top.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 11:45 amGiven how there were zero details about bonus amounts in the town hall - for the first time ever, I think - this thread will probably be the best public source of Kirkland bonus info that there is. So yes, everyone please share: Hours, rating, class year, practice group are potentially all relevant. Also be clear about what the multiplier is based off of, e.g. for a 4th year the 75k EOY market or the 90k DPW scale with the “special” part baked in.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 11:33 amEveryone, share, please -- K&E tries to keep this black box and it's the only way we can bring some transparency to it.

Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
Confused by this discussion. The memos had (and will presumably have this time) the special bonus as a separate line item. So it's blindingly obvious that they don't apply the multiplier to it.

I didn’t remember them having that but if so then yeah it’s pretty easy to determine.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 12:41 pmConfused by this discussion. Not sure, but I heard some SPs referring to it as "Operationg TLS Anon User Honey Pot" and they were talking to some IT folks.

Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
Everyone under 2000 hours will get DPW scale. Everyone over 2000 will beat DPW. High performers get a special “merit” bump. No discussion of amounts there.
This sounds like a change since I beat market under 2000 hours a few years ago.
The whole Zoom was maybe 5 minutes long.

Can confirm this. I was between 1900-2000 (under 2000) last year and was about a ~1.3x. Fuck this lol.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 2:03 pmEveryone under 2000 hours will get DPW scale. 30 minutes to go. Can’t wait to give notice after the bonus hits the bank (hopefully next week but probably year end)! Anyone see their memo in the system yet?

You won't get the bonus until the end of the year. What are you exiting to?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:32 pm30 minutes to go. Can’t wait to give notice after the bonus hits the bank (hopefully next week but probably year end)! Anyone see their memo in the system yet?

Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
Incredibly disappointed the firm is paying market bonuses to everyone who billed under 2000. I wonder though how many people there are who billed under 2000, and why someone is billing under 2000 when so many are 2500+. Is this a way of pushing people to take some of the load off of high billers?

Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
Redistributing workload so everyone is overloaded isn’t really the right approach IMO. Should be focused on hiring people so that hiring outpaces attrition. You should bring on 10-20 more people working another 2000 instead of having 100-200 people work another 100-200 hours. That would increase retention.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:50 pmIncredibly disappointed the firm is paying market bonuses to everyone who billed under 2000. Can't even make the 5:00 PM ET deadline that Ballis promised. This will be reflected on next year's review and Ballis could get a 4

People are billing under 2000 because they're smart enough to turn down work and not give away another 50 workdays worth of work for nominal amounts.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:50 pmIncredibly disappointed the firm is paying market bonuses to everyone who billed under 2000. Re: Kirkland Bonuses?
I’m disappointed they’re only getting market. K&E has no hours requirement. We should be giving everyone above market bonuses regardless of hours. The people who are consistently billing something crazy like 1600-1800 aren’t here for too long anyway. If you bill 1800-2000 you’re pulling your weight and should definitely get a K&E above market bonus and if you’re billing more than 2K the multiplier should be even higher. Above market used to be the floor for everyone.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 5:50 pmIncredibly disappointed the firm is paying market bonuses to everyone who billed under 2000.
