I'm wondering if a resume drop (not a mini interview) ever led to a CB for anyone from UCLA/USC this cycle? I didn't have luck with any resume drops.

Not a resume drop exactly, but I emailed a firm that I bid on but didn't get through the lottery, and they emailed me back and said I could interview right before the scheduled interviews for the day started. That turned into a CB, which turned into an offer. I am definitely going to encourage the 1ls to be persistent and assertive when it comes to OCI.

no offer, though, but i was told they'd get back to me in about a week.

By the same token, if you know the right people to pass your resume along you can get a CB without a screener.

You'll do fine. I also expect firms will CB more people as the first crop of candidates starts accepting offers (and turning down other CBs/offers).

This whole process is just shocking. Out of the 86 people who got biglaw last year out of USC, only 35 or so were on law review. Let's also throw in 5 people who were top 10% but chose Moot Court, so we have 40 people.

That leaves 46 who got biglaw with good, but not stellar grades (~3.4x like me)....did all of them eek out a job offer with only 2 or 3 callbacks?

Scary. I'm losing it.

I'm the person that was in the same position. I just got my first offer today. I was the earliest scheduled CB. It took them 8 business days (less than 2 weeks total) to get back to me.

I'm the person that was in the same position. I just got my first offer today. I was the earliest scheduled CB. It took them 8 business days (less than 2 weeks total) to get back to me.

Congrats, hope I find myself in the same position soon. And I hope the firms I'm interviewing at haven't given offers yet
