I have not heard anything cozen is my top choice and I know they didn't call back many so it should be a short waitlist.
had a couple callbacks already, another one this week and next week, but no offers yet. It looks like ppl were still hearing back in this thread in October last year

I applied for the preferred pool last year and they didn't schedule my interview until a bit into October. Don't worry about it yet.Anonymous User wrote:Anyone have interviews lined up with the AG's office?

Mind elaborating on this a little? Seattle has a pretty vibrant startup culture and a number of fortune 500 companies with huge in-house legal departments which make for plenty of exit options. And though the market rate is lower here than larger markets (125-ish for first year associates rather than 160), it seems the prospect of becoming partner are better and that partners tend to do quite well.Anonymous User wrote:... And the market is very limited in terms of opportunities (in-house, lateral, whatever) to live out a full legal life-span.

I don't know much about the Seattle market, but I can contribute that Seattle companies (eg, Amazon/Microsoft) always seems to have to bring in new hires from outside of Seattle to satisfy their in house needs. I've been solicited a few times from Chicago. Amazon actually sets up shop here and interviews a bunch of people intending to like hire 5-10. I've never seen companies located anywhere else do anything like that, and I assume it relates to lack of appropriate skill in Seattle owing to a small market for lawyers.Anonymous User wrote:Mind elaborating on this a little? Re: Lets Talk Seattle...
Thanks for the response. You're certainly correct that Seattle's F500 companies solicit talent nationwide (and worldwide). Seattle isn't a big enough legal market to produce anywhere near the quantity of good lawyers Seattle companies need for their in-house departments. That being said, though, it is not uncommon for Seattle lawyers to end up at Microsoft/Amazon etc.danquayle wrote:

I guess I'm just curious what opportunities are more readily available in other markets than in Seattle, as the initial comment implied.

On Monday... Post call back dings from Cozen, G&D (letter), and phone call offer from mid-size. It was understood I was looking for a split, for what that is worth.

For those of you with the Cozen rejections did they come via snail mail, email, or call. I saw someone got an offer a while back has anyone else heard anything from them/did those offers get accepted?

Thoughts on PC/DWT vs. CA/techie firms? Corporate/Transactional.

Re: Lets Talk Seattle...
If your talking about satellite offices for CA/techie firms in Seattle, I think they pay more to start, but I think there are probably better exit options from PC/DWT if you want to stay in Seattle.Anonymous User wrote:Thoughts on PC/DWT vs. CA/techie firms? Corporate/Transactional.

I would take PC/DWT. Better exit options and client base IMO. Working at firm HQ is also a benefit.Anonymous User wrote:Thoughts on PC/DWT vs. CA/techie firms? Corporate/Transactional.

Re: Lets Talk Seattle...
I agree with above poster. Also, DWT (and to a lesser extent PC) will offer you a better work/life balance. The techies pay you 160 but they work you like they're paying you 160. DWT, on the other hand, has quite reasonable billable and work expectations. And PC can as well, although it depends on the group you're with (I'm not certain what the corporate/transactional group's expectations are like).Anonymous User wrote:I would take PC/DWT. Sorry to hear that. Did you do call-backs with them?
Does anyone know when they call to ding, as opposed to emailing like the poster above?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
