I think I'm just going to call them tomorrow. It's a long shot that I got it but I'm still a little confused by the call I got on the 12th.

Any updates on here would be very appreciated. I didn't even get a call so I don't have much hope, but it would be nice to have some closure

I still haven't heard anything from the FDA, for one. Has anyone been offered an interview with Interior?

Interior gave out interviews early December. I got an email from them back then saying that I had made the first internal cut but was not ultimately selected for an interview. I believe they might interviewed something like 16 people.

I spoke with someone at HUD today and was told that all the initial offers have been made and accepted, and that pending room in the budget they may be making additional offers in Feb.

So did HUD really interview 200 people? Kind of makes me feel like my time was wasted.

I haven't gotten a rejection letter from HUD yet. My guess is that maybe they are waiting to send those out until they make Feb. offers (if they make any?)

Did Labor Dept Office of the Solicitor do any callbacks? (In other words, should I assume I didn't get the job if I haven't heard from them since OCI?)

Does anyone know what is going on with the FDA? Has anyone received a "thanks for applying but you were not selected for an interview" letter or are they just not hiring? I applied months ago and have yet to hear anything.

Re: 2012 3L Gov Honors Programs
I got the "good" USACE email, saying that "We have completed our initial review of applications and consider you a strong candidate for a position through our program." I followed up with a contact at the agency who told me that USACE is probably waiting until they are sure they have the funding to hire people before moving forward in the process. Doing a second round interview and then telling candidates that there are no openings reflects poorly on the agency.Anonymous User wrote:Any updates from the usace, since last email?
Given the budgetary climate in Washington it could be a long wait. The President's budget comes out next week, so maybe that will offer some sort of insight. Of course, Congressional Republicans will call it dead on arrival, so maybe not too much insight.
Threads about USACE from last year seem to indicate that they didn't move on hiring until well into the spring or summer. Hopefully we will get something before then, but I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

Re: 2012 3L Gov Honors Programs
So, it seems like a lot of these agency positions are budget contingent (not surprising)...Any insight onto ways that we can figure out the likelihood of an agency being able to fund positions or not. I just don't know the first thing about the federal budget and am wondering if there's some type of news source I should be following to see how likely funding will be.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
