It doesn't help that they stopped answering questions on the Avue Community site two weeks ago.

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
It seems as if tax just started doing interviews this year, so it looks like they're behind. I wonder if the departments not doing interviews get back to candidates faster.
I also wonder why there are divisions that don't do interviews.
This process has me wondering a lot.

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
Here's the SLIP timeline listed on the DOJ website; I'm not sure how accurate this is, though
Mid-November - December DOJ extends most offers
Early December DOJ notifies candidates not selected as finalists
January/February DOJ completes hiring selections

I can't for the life of me find the link to this thread from last year, which would prove to be way more helpful

I too tried looking for last year's thread. No dice. Probably because advanced forum search is still disabled.
As for timeline, antitrust told me late-october to early-nov for offers.

I dont remember, but she was an "Alternate"
The timeline listed above makes it seem like there is some kind of a waitlist, because it states that decisions go out nov-dec and then "final" decisions go out like a month later

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
Just got emailed from the BOP saying we were supposed to send in a writing sample...judging from the amount of people cc'd on this, nobody knew that (also, weird that we were cc'd and not bcc'd...so now I know there are 22 people in the pool??).

Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
Well at least 22 people didn't know that you had to send in a writing sample. How many people is BOP hiring this year? Don't know of 22 is a decent sized pool for them or not.

They're hiring 8-10. And there wasn't anything online about the writing sample...so I just assumed. Re: DOJ SLIP 2010
Somewhere on the DOJ is a site that lists the requirements of each component once you've been selected for further consideration. I think there was a link to it in the initial e-mail they sent out. I never got an official request for a transcript / writing sample from the DOJ, I just sent mine in ahead of my interview because I knew it was required from that site.Anonymous User wrote:They're hiring 8-10. As the poster above said, the requirements for what to send in when / if you are selected for further consideration are pretty clear on the DOJ website: http://www.justice.gov/oarm/arm/hp/writingsample.htm#c
