It looks like only a handful of firms have offered NYU students. Most people don't have offers yet. Unless your callbacks were at the firms that have made offers, and you've already gone on those callbacks and not heard anything, I wouldn't be too worried.

Yeah, unless you're competitive at the 10 or so most competitive firms, and have already had CBs at them, I don't think you should worry yet.

has anyone had any luck e-mailing cover letters / resumes to firms that were at EIW that you didnt interview with?

sent out 25 labor day weekend, but the only responses I received were:
1) we'll let you know OR
2) fill out our form online

I'm an NYU student, done 4 callbacks so far, one offer with GDC.

offers at paul weiss, s&c, and cleary...all within the last week. paul weiss turnaround was two days, s&c - same day, cleary - one week. silence from dpw for over a week.

I have a cleary interview coming up. Any advice you can give me/what do you think they're looking for?

Cleary CB is exactly the same as any other CB. You will meet w/ 4 attorneys, at least one of them being a partner. If they are waiting for people who aren't ready, an HR person will talk to you for a few minutes.

I did not get any substantive questions, although I imagine this type of thing goes interviewer by interviewer.

I think it's important to just be yourself at the Cleary callback. I didn't go into it trying to project a persona that wasn't true to form, and it worked for me. The 4th interview, at least for the morning callbacks, is over coffee with a younger associate. I'd treat this a little less formally than the others, but remember not to let your guard down since it's still an interview. Be prepared to ask questions of the interviewers (I'd say about 1/3 or more of each interview was asking questions of them, following up on those questions, etc.)

It seems to me, after the callback, that "fit" is important there. So just try to vibe with your interviewers!
