I got a callback yesterday from a firm that was at OCI toward the end. So it's not over.

I think we should start referring to anons as "lady." That covers both girls and gay guys, which is probably the best coverage we can get from a gender based term.Anonymous User wrote:Screener. I'm okay with being called "dude" but there are girls who read this website too, lol.

Re: Penn OCI
Did anyone ever get a ding or a CB from Pepper Hamilton, interview initials MF? I'm wondering if I might be "on hold." Kind of a waste of time to speculate over these things, but I still haven't heard anything at all from 12 firms and other people have from some of these firms! I was very surprised at the small number of rejections I came home to after my week away (not that I had CBs the whole week -- just hung out in another city since I had a place to crash.)
I'm also wondering if anyone interviewed with some of the boutique Connecticut firms (Withers, Axinn, Finn Dixon) and if they heard anything back.

I interviewed with Axinn... they made it quite clear that they weren't interested in me (don't get me wrong he was a really nice guy and we had a good convo). Said they were seeking 2 associates for antitrust (econ background) and 2 associates for IP (tech background), and 1 "really extraordinary" person for general lit. The implication was that I fit none of the three categories (I don't). But I have yet to receive a rejection.
I received a rejection from Pepper, about a week ago.

Re: Penn OCI
Thanks for the response! I do have one of the backgrounds they're looking for -- but I haven't heard a peep from them at all. We had a slightly weird conversation, but he was still pretty cool.I interviewed with Axinn... they made it quite clear that they weren't interested in me (don't get me wrong he was a really nice guy and we had a good convo). I've started checking my spam filter to see if any rejections got sent there, but no dice either. Maybe I really am on hold there? Or maybe the partner that I met with just hasn't gotten around to sending rejections.
OCI in non-New York markets are not for the impatient. Sigh.

Let's put it this way, I don't know anyone who's grades are top 40% or better that struck out.Veyron wrote: What is your general feeing about where folks who got an NYC V100 offer typicaly ranked? Top 40%?

There are a few folks (the same couple people) who keep spreading Penn doom and gloom on these boards. The majority of people have numerous callbacks, and some already have offers at this point. This includes below median students.

Most of the doom and gloom seem to have come from folks who targeted DC. But that onslaught isn't Penn specific, its market specific. It's been ugly for me, and my grades are a good bit above median.Anonymous User wrote:There are a few folks (the same couple people) who keep spreading Penn doom and gloom on these boards. On the other hand, pretty much everyone I know that targeted NY has done very well for themselves, even those below median. So I think the target market is enormous.
Oh, and IP people still have it made in the shade.

Re: Penn OCI
Hmmm, do people often bid many markets (3 or more) or do they generally keep it to one or two?underachiever wrote:There was tons of DC only, or DC heavy people this year. According to CP&P more people bid on DC than usual.Veyron wrote:
