I think Miami dinged anyone by default if they didn't appear on a court record for a credit clinic. With all the applicants, it wouldn't make sense for them to actually go for anyone that doesn't fit 100% of their requirements. It's a shitty rule, but at least we can find solace in the fact that their office undoubtedly hates it as much as we do.

I took a criminal clinic for credit and appeared on the record last fall. Also did an externship which had me on the record in the spring. 5 more EJW places to go today. I know that the table talking is super helpful but if I don't get a single interview I am really going to be bummed.

PD applicant
Applied to 8 PD places. So far accepted 2 (one my top choice, other not so much) and rejected at 2 (Miami and Mecklenburg). I'm concerned because I have ties to NC and am CLI certified in FL. Hmmm......

I have gotten only one interview. Turned down for four others so far. Applying PD jobs only. T2, top 25%, secondary journal, criminal clinics with court appearances. As in multiple crim related classes.

ETA: Also, multiple trial practice classes with mock trials. Also, multiple externships and volunteering at PDs offices.

New Hampshire just told me where to shove it. I'm actually really disappointed here. I really wanted to interview with them. I have the grades they wanted and all the PD experience and whatnot. Damn.

I still have four outstanding, and the sign-up for student interviews starts at 7 p.m. (and the deadline was midnight). So, if it's any consolation to those of us who didn't get what we hoped for, it seems that we have a lot of overburdened PDs trying to make these decisions on the fly. Which means we may have better odds with direct apps.
I struck out completely at EJW as a 2L, but got multiple offers for the summer, so it worked out OK. EJW is kind of a mindfuck.

Accept @ Brooklyn, Miami, West Palm Beach, Mecklenburg. Ding @ NH. Ding @ Bronx that later turned into an accept. I got a rejection email, but was able to sign up for an interview.
