Re: SEO Corporate Law
I got an interview invite w/in a few days of application as well. I think they take a look at your numbers and if you look like a prospective T-14 admit they will interview you immediately. I interviewed with them about a week and a half before my first acceptance.

Well, I finally submitted my application. Hopefully my picture wasn't too goofy. I just sort of rushed and cropped out some picture where I looked semi-respectable on facebook. Wish me luck...

i WOULD fax in your acceptance letters ASAP with a short cover letter with your name/applicant ID/undergrad/e-mail saying that you're updating your file with your current acceptances.
i think the above poster thought you meant rec letters.

this isn't necessary. they check the partner firms section of your application for your acceptances, so just make sure to keep that updated.meesawoosa wrote:i WOULD fax in your acceptance letters ASAP with a short cover letter with your name/applicant ID/undergrad/e-mail saying that you're updating your file with your current acceptances.

My mistake. Your right, I misread the post and thought he was referring to the LOR.

Re: SEO Corporate Law
They finally skyped me 15 minutes late. Such is life, I suppose... because if this had been an IRL interview, starting late wouldn't surprise me at all. But I did do my hair and get all fancied up and they didn't even employ the webcam.meesawoosa wrote:that's weird... it's the correct time zone right? Anyway, the skype interview is a bit different than the in-person interviews as far as content (at least from the stories of IRL interviews I've read). A little awkward due to the time lag and the inability to tell when a person is done talking. Awkward silences followed by everyone talking at once. And no case to go over (they ask you about an article you've read recently, so there really is no fucking it up); plus I had the luxury of having my resume on-hand. But my roommate walked in mid-way... just another lovely addition to the awkward.
FWIW: I asked about faxing them acceptances, and they said to only bother sending in acceptances for schools you are actually considering attending. I took that as "we don't give a shit about your non-T14 acceptances, so don't waste our paper."

Re: SEO Corporate Law
where are you located, and (more importantly) is it far from your preferred interview location? i feel like that *might* be a factor. i applied on the last day, around 10 pm (i procrastinate...) and i received an interview invite today. i'm definitely *not* a shoe-in at any of the t14, i have yet to receive an acceptance from any of the t14, and my SEO essay was shorter (and lamer) version of my PS. so...that makes me think my location may have played a factor. but who knows. maybe the SEO interviewers are feeling particularly stressed out and feel the need to beat up an interviewee just for fun. (the punching bag would be me, in this case.)jaen78 wrote:Sadly, not the case. I'm going to Chicago and applied over a week ago. No interview invite.picotin wrote:I'm suspect most applicants, maybe all, accepted to a t14 school are immediately sent interview invites.DawsonPhoenix wrote:I just submitted my SEO application and though I am waiting to hear back from a couple other schools, I am in at UPenn and am planning to attend in the fall. Everyone keeps saying if you go to HYSCCN your a shoe in and if you go to a top 20 you have a decent shot at acceptance. What are the odds of acceptance into SEO if you go to UPenn? Thoughts? Also, how long did you all have to wait before you were notified that you were offered an interview?
that being said...you're going to Uchicago! you wil definitely get an invite--i dont see why you wouldn't

Actually I took that to mean that they won't make a decision until you send them finalized confirmations of which school you will be attending.lex talionis wrote: FWIW: I asked about faxing them acceptances, and they said to only bother sending in acceptances for schools you are actually considering attending. So I am holding out for some words from Yale. Should I fax SEO my HLS acceptance letter? ( I am SERIOUSLY considering attending HLS of course.)

They'll take you regardless of Harvard of Yale. And they want you to fax what school you will be attending, not which you've gotten into. They already know what schools you've gotten into if you've been updating their partner firm section.crazy_zoologist wrote:So I am holding out for some words from Yale. Imagine if you fax them an acceptance of Harvard and SEO accepts you. But then you decide to to go I dunno Texas b/c of a full ride. That wouldn't make them nor their partner firms too happy (nothing against Texas of course).

Re: SEO Corporate Law
The two are definitely not mutually exclusive. TCR is something along the lines of "We don't give a shit about any of your acceptances, we only care about where you end up. We won't make a decision until you send a finalized confirmation of which school you will be attending, so don't waste our paper by sending us anything other than your T-14 enrollment form."legends159 wrote:Actually I took that to mean that they won't make a decision until you send them finalized confirmations of which school you will be attending.lex talionis wrote: FWIW: I asked about faxing them acceptances, and they said to only bother sending in acceptances for schools you are actually considering attending. I think you should fax them your HLS acceptance. I think they want proof of all of your acceptances, or at least the ones that you are considering. So if you're considering HLS, fax it.crazy_zoologist wrote:So I am holding out for some words from Yale. Should I fax SEO my HLS acceptance letter? I had my interview yesterday. It really wasn't that bad. They ask questions about why SEO. Things about your resume. What you will do if you don't get the internship. Then a case study. Where you read an article then you describe it to them.
I hope I get it. But I dont know. I applied to two t14 schools and waiting to hear back from them. Im accepted at Emory right now, so if that suffices maybe I will get it.

I just got this email as well. I went to register and I was taken to a website called the "National Negro Association" or something like that...I wonder if this is program is only for African Americans? I thought the instructions indicated any broke minority (like me) could apply...

Meesa is in as a result of deferring for a year (and thus already sending in the enrollment receipt for HLS, etc.). For the rest of us, we probably won't find out for a long while unless we put in a seat deposit sometime soon.Sobriquet wrote:Has anyone besides meesa gotten in?
