Stop spreading misinformation. I have more to say about your post, but this is something that shouldn't be passed on to future students.

Also were we on the same OCS emails? Because I would not say that OCS provided robust training/guidelines/mentorship for OCI. I heard the interviewing coaching was useless, for one. And they absolutely should have communicated more about Pre-OCI.
LOL? You have no firsthand experience, and you want to use what you "heard" from someone else as the basis to indict people who are only trying to help, or cast blanket aspersions of "uselessness"? This isn't college or high school, you're no longer a kid. You can't blame your problems on someone else (or the "classically masculine" system").
What about what I said would lead to this kind of emotional response?

I talked to several students when I was debating doing it, and several people told me it wasn't helpful, so yeah I naturally came to the conclusion it wasn't going to be incredibly helpful. I've also had lots of other experiences with OCS and I would stand by the fact that they are not good at preparing students for OCI/Pre-OCI.

My suggestion to 1Ls is to find a great 2L mentor. Pre-OCI is a must, imo.

Also, this:

Lastly, remember that everyone else is going through the same process at the same time, everyone is stressed- people remember who is walking around being braggadocious and it's not generally seen as a good character trait. Overall, very few people actually strikeout, especially those who use OCS as a resource.
1) Imagine getting on a forum and basically telling everyone that struck out to stop whining because they either didn't prepare well enough or didn't have a personality. You are on one hand admonishing unsympathetic behavior and yet exhibiting some pretty unempathetic behavior yourself.

2) You have no idea if the people who struck out have or have not relied on OCS either more or less than those who succeeded. This all conjecture.
