Milbank may have a position for the transactionally-oriented. Buddy of mine just declined his offer to return to go to banking instead. He was a Milbank paralegal though, so it might have just been kind of a special spot they were holding for him. Worth a shot regardless.

I got invited to do a CB with Loeb a few weeks ago (response to mass mail). I turned it down.

what exactly is a screener and how do you know you'll have a screener versus a regular interview

3L OCI interview coming up. Quick interview that should last about 20-30 minutes. Not sure what questions to expect or how to even prepare. Please help.

I assume you mean 3L hiring, not literally OCI.Anonymous User wrote:3L OCI interview coming up. Quick interview that should last about 20-30 minutes. Not sure what questions to expect or how to even prepare. Please help.
I did a number of these a couple years ago. By and large they are identical to 2L screeners. General small talk about where you're from, where you went to school. Probably some questions from your resume. Probably solicitation of questions for the interviewer from you on topics like firm culture, practice areas, etc. The main difference, which is often reported in here, is that they will likely expect to hear just a little bit more about what your interests are in terms of practice group. If they are hiring for a specific position, which you should ask if you don't already know, they will want to hear that you want that specific practice group. They will likely also ask about your 2L summer, if you had an SA and if you got an offer from said SA. They will probably also ask why you're doing 3L recruiting, which may be obvious but you should have some kind of response for, regardless.
In my experience, these people, assuming biglaw here, are so used to interviewing rising 2Ls, they often forget you are a 3L and you have to remind them.
