how likely is it that the attorneys the firms have listed are actually the ones we interview with?

Also it's been stated before, but continue to email recruiting departments of firms you want to interview with. They WILL fit you in to their schedule.

Not from my experience. Received a CB to one of the big 4 with absolutely no ties to DE. I ended up cancelling the CB and taking an offer in a different market.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Is Delaware not ties sensitive?DCESQ wrote:For anyone interested in corporate, Wilmington had some spots open later in the process last year. I grabbed a couple extra interviews there.

They are live, or at least extremely close to it. That's how people 'trade' interviews. And yea, when someone cancels.Anonymous User wrote:how are open sign ups updated? are they updated whenever they open up or do they update them in batches at particular hours? also, how are open sign up slots determined? does a slot open up when someone cancels?
If it's a firm that has multiple interviewers, i wouldn't count too much on getting that person. They'll post a list first thing in the morning in the lobby, and even that's subject to change; I had a few interviews where the person I was supposed to interview got pulled into a conference call and they sent an associate or someone else from their hospitality suite (but these did tend to be easier interviews because they weren't really prepped or exhausted).buckiguy_sucks wrote:how likely is it that the attorneys the firms have listed are actually the ones we interview with?

3Ls/alums: when you reached out to firms where you didn't get a lottery interview, what was the general turnaround time if they were going to schedule an additional interview? I've reached out to several firms but haven't heard anything back.

I heard back up through the day before they we're going to be on-campus. Varies depending on the firm's OCI schedule.Anonymous User wrote:3Ls/alums: when you reached out to firms where you didn't get a lottery interview, what was the general turnaround time if they were going to schedule an additional interview? Re: Georgetown EIW - 2016
I barley interviewed at all in DC, but based on friends' experiences this seems to be the case. Everyone I know in the (presumably) top-third and above range who had to be in DC got DC, but as the above poster said, it seemed a bit dicey. It may be a good idea to express interest in NYC as well for a few firms that are also interviewing for NYC and only want to interview each candidate once.Mr. Blackacre wrote:Yes. If you were me, staring at a looming financial downturn, coupled with increased associate efficiency due to technology, would you take an offer from your firm or literally any other firm (aside from Sidley Chicago)?buckiguy_sucks wrote:Is there a chill way to ask Latham if they're going to latham associates again
I think this has a nice understated quality to it.

Just don't ask the Weil partner who tells you he's taken a 'truth serum,' so you can ask him anything, about their 2013 layoffs.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Is there a chill way to ask Latham if they're going to latham associates again

Actually seriously yes, but not at your screener.buckiguy_sucks wrote:Is there a chill way to ask Latham if they're going to latham associates again
Ask a current or former Lathamite what their sense of things are on the ground, and at a callback or later you can ask an open-ended question like "What is Latham doing since the recession to ensure it will thrive in the new/changing legal landscape" or something similar. Law firms, especially partners and hiring department people, eat that shit right up and love to talk about their new strategies (which, news flash, largely amount to "do the same thing as before but, like, harder")

Good luck tomorrow all. It will be stressful as fuck even if you're a tippy top student. Nothing can change that but most of you will do just fine.
Get your stress/nervousness vented in healthy ways so it doesn't consume you during EIW. Exercise, talking with friends/SO's, whatever. Just remember to eat, sleep, and take care of yourself and know that you will very likely come out of this with a job if you're committed.

GL tomorrow, hoyas. 2016 grad here, EIW is honestly not the monster people make it out to be. Be normal, be friendly, be put together, be hygienic.

Re: Georgetown EIW - 2016
Yep, the EIW SS has begun: I think I spent most of the interview talking about my S.O. A close second was my love of a fictional character. Why Minnietron would be great for firm X was a distant third. The good news, it felt completely normal. See, e.g., supra.Gray wrote:this.Minnietron wrote:If you've led a shitshow life everyday, then Monday will be completely normal!Anonymous User wrote:Very anxious already.
