Is that because no GW people wanted to end up there or no GW people stuck out to Latham?
That also seems to be an odd school distribution. A lot of one offs from random schools.

Sometimes firms misjudge a school and school classes value firms differently. I know Weil was confused by their inability to get a northwestern grads to accept offers. But they were only offering people who had a bunch of v10 offers.

Indeed - if the firm came to OCI there were looking to hire, they likely just shot too high.
Anecdote - Skadden D.C. hadn't had a UVA summer in a while, and the rumblings pre-OCI were why would you waste a bid on someone that doesn't have a single UVA summer? Some people avoided them for that reason - that was dumb, they gave out several offers that I know of here, but none accepted. They were looking top-20%, and the top-20% just went elsewhere.

This happened at my T14 with Skadden. A shit ton of people accepted the year before, including some law review folks. So, this year it seemed like they where making offers mostly to people with really good grades that had a lot of options and ended up only picking up a couple of people. I also know that they were confused and irritated with their yield this year, because they had expected better.

This may be premature, because there isn't a school breakdown yet, but Willkie NYC has 68 SAs this summer. I'll post when we have the school breakdown.

This is a friend of mine. The "winning" is countered by now being EIC.

TLS doesn't--and shouldn't--ever let up on firms who fuck over people's careers with no recourse after lying about a situation. Insensitivity is the price to tell any Winston summer that doesn't already know that the firm isn't trustworthy and that summering there is a giant risk that should only be taken as a last resort.

Anon cause I am at W&S. Not trying to be a shill for the firm because what happened a few summers ago was terrible. But just to reassure any ppl summering at Winston that might see this, they almost certainly will get offers. The firm historically has been 100% offer and certainly since all the crap they got (deservedly so) for no offering 1/3 of the class back in 2012 they have been. Not defending anything else, just saying the summers shouldn't have to worry about getting an offer

Interesting that Kirkland/Sidley IIRC prefer NU, Skadden prefers UChicago.

previous years have been a lot closer to 1:1 and the rumblings are that yield wasn't as high as expected from NU, so I don't know that there is a real preference there. with that said, i'd be willing to bet they dip lower in the class at uchi though.
but on the other hand i think sidley is known for having a stronger uchi bias than most.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
