Phone screen interview next week. Tips?

Be prepared to answer why law, why X law school, why X geographical area, how you like law school/what classes are your favorite, and anything you listed on your resume. Maybe even what type of law you want to practice. Will probably be about 20-30 minutes. Check out the OCI guides in the legal employment sub forum.

Just got a 9th Circuit ding via mail. Not a major market. Said he was cutting case load and won't require full compliment of interns or clerks. Radio silence on other AIII thus far.

7th Circuit doesn't hire interns, but N.D. Ill. hires 1Ls and hires early (worked there last summer). If you have questions on specific judges, feel free to PM me.

Just a reminder (if you have time during exams), it's never too late to reach out to alums at firms, whether from your undergrad or law school. I did that a couple weeks ago, and heard back just today that the partner's going to try and work something out with recruiting for an interview.

haha, i don't think it will help, i was dinged from places where i actually knew attorneys. i wasn't expecting too much. of the three im still waiting on, one has potential, and the other two are almost auto dings because the firms are a bit small to go for a 1L
