I can confirm I was offered a salary in the upper middle of the range. I am not a clerk but I have significant outside experience that was taken into account.
So you got a salary offer for $98,755 huh? lol because accordingly to the Asbury Park data base (thanks for the previous poster who directed us to this data base), that is the highest i've seen for a law clerk at SK11 level. Most hovered around $95,028 according to the data base, atleast for 2013.

There's been two government-wide pay increases since 2013 (after no increases in 2012, 2011, and 2010) so 98k might be the new 95k. I wish they would just tell all of us our salaries already lol

I doubt its is because of inflation or raise, most likely its because that person had some other relevant experience.

For those of you with a salary offer, how long did you have to wait after getting your tentative offer before you got the salary offer? I know there's currently a backlog, but just wondering.

My salary offer took about 2-3 weeks. They are backed up as far as I know.

What's the background investigation been like? Have they contacted your current employer? Former employers?

Not sure if this is the standard but you have to do a finger print background check and then provide additional information on work, school, residence, drug use, credit, and criminal background history. They also ask for work, school, and personal reference. Generally I believe they start to contact people, including your current employer, within couple of completing the form. It is like most public trust fed position backrgound checks.

At this point everyone is probably just waiting for their background checks to clear. I'm pretty sure all the divisions are done with offers.

Received news that I passed background check and can pick a start date. I already had a security clearance from a different federal job so that's why i think it was relatively fast.
