Also, if you interviewed with other components, did you rank ATR(DC) first in your application, top choice now?
I interviewed Friday afternoon with ATR(DC), NY a couple weeks ago. References have not been called as far as I know but wouldn't expect it with DC since I just interviewed.
Interviewed with ATR(NY) the week before that, and they also called my references on 10/31.
When I applied, I ranked ATR(DC) ahead of ATR(NY), but NY is now my first choice. I also interviewed with several USAOs during the first week of interviews, but no word from any of them yet.

I interviewed end of the first week. My references haven't indicated they were checked, but I also haven't asked. Re: DOJ Honors Program 2014-15
I interviewed last Friday with ATR(DC) and my references were checked early this week. The person who called them was the attorney who led my interview (middle seat anyway), so I think it's possible for those that haven't heard, that the timing depends on the interview panel.
Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we will hear soon.

EOIR OCIJ people: if you DONT check "willing to go anywhere" and your top 5 cities are full by the time they get to you on the ranked offer list, what happens? Do they offer a random city or do you get placed as an alternate/no offered? My interviewer said thought it was the former but told me wasnt sure.

I'm pretty sure people have reported getting offers to go somewhere they didn't list before (where they didn't say "I'll go anywhere").

Re: DOJ Honors Program 2014-15
Come on guys....need a lot more anxious posting here. 2013 thread went 45 pages! Sequestered, government-shutdowned 2014 went 25. Why should the DOJ hire us if we're this calm?
Also, found this from the 2014 thread. Imagine we should expect the same,

Any other ATR(DC) people have updates? Reference checks? Next week is going to be difficult. From Deana Willis:
1. 99% of the interviews will be finished by today (Nov. 22nd). EOIR has a handful of interviews next week, but everyone else is finished.
2. Components have a December 11th deadline to select finalists. They can do it earlier if they want to, and they can request a later date for good cause. As components identify finalists, I'll post online status changes and Community board updates.
3. A finalist is defined as a candidate under consideration for an offer. That includes first-round offer candidates and alternates. Online status should reflect status as a finalist (or so I hope - that's what I was told anyway).
4. I strongly suspect that first-round offers will go out very soon after a component identifies its finalists. Initial offers are oral. The formal written offer letter is not issued until after the oral offer is accepted. I do not anticipate formal offer letters going out until, at the very earliest, late December. Most likely they will start going out in January.
5. For general information on salary, visit http://www.justice.gov/careers/legal/entry-salary.html.
6. DOJ adheres to the NALP guidance regarding time length of time an offer must remain open. For current law students, offers issued before December 15 must remain open for 28 days or until December 31, whichever comes first. Offers issued to current law students after December 15 or to a law school graduate at any time must remain open for two weeks.

Yep. Great idea. This will surely get us through the next week. Everyone please contribute, even if you haven't heard anything, so hopefully it's as representative as possible.Anonymous User wrote:That spreadsheet is brilliant.
I'm curious, to the other ATR-DC people, do you think they check everyone's references? It seemed like there were a couple people who had not confirmed a reference check yet. It seems like it would be a waste of time to make all of those calls but then I know they have a fairly rigid evaluation process. Just looking, like I'm sure everyone is, for some sort of positive indication of my chances.

One of my references emailed me out of the blue. He was very excited because two components called him on the same day and wanted to tell me what they had said about me. Law profs are the best!Anonymous User wrote:How do you guys know if references were checked?
