I've been given leeway for being IP from a few firms. I've heard some horror stories where the interviewer says something akin to "We don't hire people with your numbers."

I am 4 people out of the top 10%. I'm dropping firms that "require" it, but I'm keeping firms that say "preferred." I ranked Simpson Thacher #4 and I got them. I also got my #1 and my #2, but not my #3. I'm trying to figure out if Simpson Thacher was a preselect or lottery. I figure we're given 2 lottery slots? So there's a good chance they were lottery, and they have top 10% preferred too. blerg.

Man, I would give anything to know which are lottery and which are preselect. I got my first 6 choices, but I can't help and wonder how many of them are really interested in me. Are you sure we only get 2 lottery slots? I'd feel a lot better knowing this is the case.

I really like our OCS, but I wish they would switch course on the whole "we don't tell you which is which" thing.

honestly, i feel HCO does a good job of sabotaging students' chances at employment in the name of not sabotaging students' chances at employment.
