Why WTF? CBs at better places?

CBs at places with much higher median and minimum GPAs for CBs last year. i thought the interview went extremely well. i networked heavily w/ hiring partners I had connections with over the summer and received very positive feedback from them.

It wasn't jealousy, I was just pretty sure that the person whose interviews went extremely well was wearing their Yale, or maybe Harvard, tie. It was my way of saying I think I know who you are.

I received a Jenner callback, as did some of my friends. The impression I have is that the firm has a strict GPA cutoff and a preference for NUers who take substantive electives.

Has anyone heard any rumblings re Baker Botts (either TX or DC)? It seems as though they had a much quicker response rate at Columbia.

My interviewer (for TX) told me they had a bunch of other OCIs coming up and didn't expect to make any decisions for a week or two. Not sure about DC.

Don't think thats true. I have heard of several AJDs who have gotten them with grades across the board, and of course they have no electives.

Chapman had a 3.3 median GPA for the two years preceding last year, then a 3.7 median last year. Gotta say I think you were unlucky there.

It is pretty depressing to look back at how easy OCI was a few years ago. Call it entitled if you want, but it is also just bad luck. It actually looks like this year in Chicago will be tougher than last year.

It is pretty depressing to look back at how easy OCI was a few years ago. Call it entitled if you want, but it is also just bad luck. It actually looks like this year in Chicago will be tougher than last year.

Eh, I don't think so. I think Chicago just moves slower in general, and especially ITE where everyone has a small class and needs to spread out their callbacks to see what their yield ends up being.

I would really, really, really appreciate it if people with NYC CBs could briefly assess how long it took to hear back from their firms. Practically no one at my school has heard anything from anyone yet, and our first week of OCI is almost over.

I don't think CLS/NYU are useful reference points since NYC recruiting depts didn't need to fly out to interview there. Since I imagine that distance slows down the turn around and NU is about as far away from NYC as Chi is, I hope that perhaps your turnaround will be more indicative of what we can expect.

Anyone? Bueller?
