I am the previous poster who heard from GDC NY the day after.Anonymous User wrote:uh-oh, interviewed wednesday and haven't heard
I had my interview Tuesday morning and heard Wednesday around 5pm. So it's quite possible that the hiring committee meets either Tuesday night or Wednesday afternoon and you just missed the weekly cycle. I wouldn't worry about it until a week passes.

Re: Gibson Dunn
I interviewed at Gibson in DC on Friday. When did Friday interviewers in DC hear back about offers? People said that the committee meets on Fridays but I'm not sure if that means I have to wait about a week or not.

^ Why? I'm also waiting, though my CB wasn't the best, but I interviewed right before Labor Day (so Friday must be the day that the committee next met). For all the talk of OCI winding up...frankly...how? GULC and other schools, even though they have OCI later, are only just over 2 weeks out of OCI. Callbacks are still being given at firms (I got one today).

I'm considering taking an offer at GDC (in cali) and was wondering what you guys find attractive about the firm? (aside from vault, chambers, ATL)

Free market system (even as a junior associate), relatively low leverage, chill culture, awesome litigation practice (tons of SCOTUS cases)Anonymous User wrote:I'm considering taking an offer at GDC (in cali) and was wondering what you guys find attractive about the firm? Has anyone heard anything negative about GDC's smaller offices in Denver, Dallas, etc.? I'm thinking of accepting an offer at one.

Re: Gibson Dunn
Everyone I talked to was very friendly, but that was the case of 90% of the interviews I went on for other firms. However, one of the partners told me that in regards to partner-associate relations, not only is being an ass not encouraged, it's not tolerated. Also, the partners made a point to call attention to their relatively low leverage ratio (2.5?:1) and how they could be making a ton more money if they raised the number, but that there was a consensus that this would kill the culture and the ratio was kept as is.Anonymous User wrote:I got the impression of a pretty chill culture too...what was your perception of the culture?
So, after all this wave of sunshine and rainbows, has anyone heard any negative things about the firm that we should know about?

Are all of these positive comments about the firm culture only in response to the question about the smaller offices?

What aspects of the culture did they like? What is it about GDC that makes people love it so much?
