Agreed - don't understand how people think it's appropriate to discuss Skadden in a post asking to compare Skadden to other firms

Even if not are all directly responsive to OP's question, everything here has been relevant for other/future readers making similar decisions

I’m a GDC litigator. There is no conservative litigation bent. The appellate group is on the conservative side, but we have like a thousand other litigators who are not in that group. I definitely don’t think the NY office has any sort of conservative bent.
