Quinn’s summers work. Also “paraded around by attractive recruiting assistants??””
The question isn't whether summers work. Its whether summers bill (and the client pays). Good luck with that
I personally billed to a client a few times. A partner specifically told me to bill to the client matter number instead of the generic summer program one. I always wondered why this guy wanted me to do that and if it actually went to the client.
I can't speak to Quinn but at my firm clients are never billed for summer work, regardless of whether they recorded the work to the client matter or the generic summer one. I'm not sure why some partners preferred one way or another.

Idk if this his their reason, but it certainly makes tracking who worked for what client for conflicts purposes easier.

You don't exercise RSUs....

On Topic: Summer -- don't do this. At best, you'll harm your reputation permanently. At worst, you'll get your offer rescinded like that summer a while back who tried to pitch the firm on bringing in new business and was told in response to go away.

anon bc the firm could easily identify me. was given a 60k signing bonus to join a firm's newest satellite office after a pretty great screener and CB. bonus came after the offer because i was between them and the firm i ultimately committed to. it happens but you can't ask for it, just gotta make them see you as a candidate worth spending money on. doubt in this economy (i did OCI during the most recent busy period of biglaw) it would happen but who knows.

firm is V20.
