8 years in biglaw and I’ve never worked on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve, once or twice, which has been kind of an issue since like many Italian-Americans, I celebrate Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day (gotta eat those seven fishes and go to vigil Mass, if you know, you know).

Four years as an M&A associate I never had to work on Christmas, but twice I was the designated as "on call" for any client requests or document flipping needs that arose. It mostly meant keeping greater than otherwise expected attentiveness to e-mail, and I may have sent a few quick e-mails, but no work of any substance ever had to be done.
