Maybe check out the most recent NYT article re Jones Day...
Yeah the NYT is not biased *at all*. The one-sentence reference in that article to Paul Weiss being pretty much the same thing, but on the liberal side, is a perfectly-balanced caveat

I’m the former JD associate who listed out reasons to pick it over BSF. My points still stand but are muted. The article is horrifying and, to me, demonstrates that JD’s leadership obfuscated a lot of its political from its own partners.
I’d now say pick JD over BSF for the summer and start getting the clerkship train running. I’d be really embarrassed if I were still there.

People love to write hit pieces on Jones Day. The firm's been through worse - especially around January 6 - and its financials have only improved. It'll survive this NYT article just fine. Jones Day has something like 2500 lawyers, most of whom do bland, unobjectionable corporate work. A small number, mostly based out of DC, do high-visibility political work for the Republican party. The firm has carved out a niche as a revolving door with government. It sent a number of attorneys into the Trump administration - but it has sent a sizable number into the Biden administration too.

Maybe JD is more visible in this space, but it's not at all unusual. White-collar firms like DPW have long done the same, though maybe not as controversially as the Trump admin tends to bring out. Bottom line, the revolving door with government is not at all unusual.
